Thank You Erin

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the retirement from basketball of Erin Jones on medical grounds.

Erin has been a fantastic professional through her career, having a stellar college career with Hartford University, University of Rhode Island and University of North Florida. Erin made her professional debut with the Caledonia Gladiators before spending last season in Germany for Wings Leverkusen.

Erin also represented the Great Britain National team, holding a British passport.

“I want to thank Manchester Basketball and those that are all involved with the club for a great few months,” commented Erin.

“After getting another concussion, I decided it’s in my best interest to retire. I can’t thank Manchester enough for their support with this difficult decision and for helping me start my transition into this next stage of life.”

“I’m extremely grateful for all my family, friends, coaches, teammates, and staff members that have been with me throughout my career. The countless memories I’ve made playing this game are ones I’ll never forget. As tough as it is to close this chapter, I’m looking forward to seeing what this next chapter has in store for me.”

Manchester Basketball’s Dominique Allen commented:

“We are really sad that Erin is retiring but we are supportive that this is the right decision for her health in the long term.”

“Erin has been a first class professional during her short time with us both on and off court. She will be a massive success when she begins her next chapter.”

“We will be rooting for her and we are confident great things are ahead for Erin.”

Manchester Basketball would like to put on record their thanks for her efforts while in an MCR Jersey.. all the best for the future Erin!
