Manchester Basketball can confirm the signature of talented American guard Ian DuBose.
6’4” DuBose will be familiar to MCR fans having spent last season and much of this at Caledonia Gladiators. DuBose had previously played in Denmark’s Basketligaen, with Team FOG Naestved, averaging an impressive 16.8 points, his performances earning him a spot in EuroBasket.com’s all-Denmark Basketligaen second team.
“I am really excited to join the club! Manchester is a building club with great ambitions and are taking the right steps to reach those goals,” reflected Ian.
“I feel my abilities on the court really match the group and my familiarity to the league will add to the team’s success. I look forward to playing with the guys!”
Before embarking on his professional career, DuBose spent three years at Houston Baptist University before joining power house Wake Forest for his senior year.
DuBose started his professional career in Germany where he suited up for VFL Kirchheim Knights.
“Ian has the experience of already playing and having big impact in the league last season, which is valuable for us,” reflected Head Coach Callum Jones.
“He has the ability to make plays for others or himself in a variety of ways, and we are looking forward to seeing how that adds to the team. I’m looking forward to working with Ian in this group.”
Dubose looks set to make his MCR debut this weekend as the team face away trips to Surrey this Friday before returning to his former club Caledonia on Sunday.
