American power forward Courtney Shaw has been added to the 2024/25 roster.
The Baltimore native spent last season in Spain in Plasencia, where she impressed in her first year as a professional. Previously Shaw had enjoyed a stellar college career at Northwestern.
“I’m just genuinely happy to be here, not only in the city of Manchester but training with this group of coaches and my teammates I’ve gotten to know in just a short time,” reflected Shaw.
“It has been a whirlwind ending up here this season but from what I’ve seen so far I’m very glad I’ve decided to come here and now am in pursuit of a championship with this team.”
“I’ll be sure to do my part and then some on both ends, there’s a lot of good energy here should be fun to say the least.”
Coach Krumesh reflected on the new signing; “she’s an exciting addition to our roster.”
“She’s very athletic and will give us a new dynamic at both ends of the floor.”
“Courtney is someone with great energy and that’s infectious for our group. We really like the business we have done in the off-season in a short space of time.”
Manchester have also confirmed that they have parted ways with Nikki McDonald after a brief spell with the club. All at Manchester Basketball wish Nikki all the best for the future.
Courtney will be in action for Manchester tomorrow when they take on Essex Rebels in the league, 2pm tip.
