Role Description
Director of Ticketing is typically responsible for overseeing all aspects of the ticketing operations for professional basketball games and occasional events. This includes managing the sale, distribution, and customer service related to tickets, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
The Ticketing Director is responsible for leading and managing all ticketing operations within the organisation. This includes strategising ticket pricing, sales, distribution, group sales, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and processes. The role also involves overseeing ticketing software Fanbase, systems, and personnel, ensuring a smooth and optimised ticketing experience for customers and maximising revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Ticket Sales & Revenue Management:
- Develop and implement ticket pricing strategies in line with organisational goals and market conditions.
- Monitor and analyse ticket sales data, making adjustments as necessary to maximise revenue.
- Ensure the efficient distribution of tickets through online platforms, box offices, and third-party vendors.
Customer Service & Relations:
- Manage customer inquiries and concerns regarding tickets, including refunds, exchanges, and general inquiries.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
Technology & Systems Management:
- Oversee the functionality and maintenance of the ticketing software Fanbase, ensuring smooth operations.
- Work with the Fanbase team to troubleshoot and improve the ticketing system.
Marketing & Promotions:
- Collaborate with marketing team & gameday team to create and execute promotional campaigns and special ticket offers.
- Develop strategies to engage target audiences and boost ticket sales for events.
Event Planning & Coordination:
- Coordinate ticketing logistics for events, ensuring proper allocation of tickets and efficient entry systems.
- Work closely with event coordinators and other departments to ensure ticketing operations align with event timelines and expectations.
Budgeting & Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and manage ticketing department budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
- Generate and present regular reports on ticket sales, revenue performance, and trends to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in ticketing management, preferably in a large-scale venue, event, or entertainment industry.
- Strong knowledge of ticketing systems and software (e.g., Fanbase, Ticketmaster, AXS, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on revenue generation and customer satisfaction.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at once.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with event planning and coordination.
- Background in data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and customer engagement techniques.
Working Conditions:
- This role may require evening and weekend work, depending on game schedules.
